Founded in 2001, Amaris Custom Homes is a Twin Cities based custom green home builder serving the wider Twin Cities market area, including Western Wisconsin. Formerly Solid Ground Construction, the company was renamed in 2007 to reflect the founders vision to become a leader in energy-efficient, safe, healthy, durable, green homes. Today, Amaris Custom Homes is a market leader in the green building industry. We build a small quantity of custom green homes each year for a select group of customers. Amaris Custom Homes has been the first builder to build LEED/Green Homes in many Minnesota communities and as a result has been featured in local news articles, radio and television.
About the Founder:
Raymond is the Founder and Chief Manager of Amaris Custom Homes, Minnesota’s leading custom green home builder. His vision and passion is to transform the legacy residential building industry through leadership in the green building industry. He is credited with over 30 years of real estate experience in many facets including land development, residential construction, transactional (financing & sales) and investment of commercial and residential real estate. Raymond was the first Minnesota licensed residential contractor to be both Minnesota GreenStar qualified and achieve LEED AP (Accredited Professional) Certification with the U.S. Green Building Council. He is the qualified residential contractor license holder in MN and WI.

Amaris Custom Homes is the founding sponsor of the PlusOneHomeProject. In 2012, Amaris Custom Homes committed to build an additional home in Haiti for every home built by a paying customer in the U.S. This is accomplished through our partnership with World Wide Village, a Haitian non-profit organization that serves under privileged Haitian citizens. Thousands of Haitians are still living in make-shift tents and need outside assistance. World Wide Village’s approach is to offer a hand up instead of a hand out. Customers purchasing from Amaris Custom Homes pay NO extra cost for the project because the giving campaign is part of the company’s commitment to good stewardship.

In order to achieve our goal of “AFFORDABLE” custom-built, green-homes…with healthy living built in, Amaris Custom Homes has developed a number of direct purchase relationships with suppliers, cutting out unnecessary middlemen. As an example, due to our direct relationship with Westinghouse Solar, Amaris Custom Homes is able to integrate Solar Voltaic systems into our new homes and save customers thousands of dollars. We also enjoy several other direct relationships with various suppliers to the residential home building industry.
